Mick Brandenberger Background

Mick Brandenberger has been strongly affected by his youthful adaptations to extreme geological situations. At six years of age he lived a frontier like existence in a log cabin without electricity or running water during the bitter cold environment of rugged Kodak, Alaska. By the time he was eight he was swimming in the warm tropical waters of Waikiki Beach in Oahu, Hawaii.

While living in Hawaii, his world opened up to new foods, music, traditions of the Polynesian and Oriental cultures. This has fostered a deep appreciation for the historicity of multicultural societies as he travels around the world.

All of these experiences can be seen in his paintings. For example, in the sweeping panoramic painting, ”Living In Mediterranean History” or in the more intimate painting, “High Hill Cabin”, the influences of his youth have matured into visionary creations.
